(Mission, Goals and Theme will be determined at the September Council meeting)

Mission

The primary mission of the Issaquah PTSA Council is to support our member units, with particular focus on helping them adopt best practices and develop leadership. We do this through training, sharing resources, and actively facilitating communications within PTA and between PTA and the Issaquah School District. In addition, the Council advocates for students at the local and state levels – in coordination with our local units – with the mission of improving the delivery of public education to the children in the ISD. The Council will work in partnership with the Issaquah School District and the Issaquah Schools Foundation in support of this mission.

2009-2010 Goals

  1. To pass the three Issaquah School District Levies in February.

  2. To facilitate and develop strategies to help with transitioning for students, families, and staff within the Issaquah School District due to new school boundaries, new PTAs starting up, and future budgeting challenges.

  3. To continue to push for the implementation of education reform, as initiated last year in EHSB 2261, to protect what is in the best interest of kids.

  4. To make the Issaquah PTSA Council accessible to everyone by growing our leadership potential and creating opportunities for broader participation from local units.

  5. To help our local units reach out to our diverse populations.
