- Training please have the discussion with your elected members on training requirements who still needs to attend the midyear conference and those who you would like to encourage to attend as potential board members. New Information
NCL ~ this Mother and Daughter group are looking to fill the next class and are holding an information session contact Catherine Kruger. National Charity League is the oldest and largest volunteer organization in the nation. NCL’s purpose is to provide opportunities for mothers and daughters to work together as volunteers for local non-profit agencies. We will be holding informational meetings in mid January to recruit new members in 6th-9th grade (once in, membership continues through high school). We are recruiting from Sammamish and Issaquah middle schools. The meeting on the 13th January is at 3:00 and the one on the 15th January is at 6:30 and they are both at the Boys and Girls Club Teen Center in Sammamish
Convention100 “something’s” for door prizes at convention The door prize committee have asked councils to provide 100 something’s please get your thinking caps on as to what we can donate.
Leadership Academy you are more amazing than you know ~ send in an application and be recognized.
What awards will you be putting into state? Think about all the hard work you have done in your unit for your school and spread the word by entering a Significant Action submission. Perhaps ask your chair of the event to do the paperwork.

Please collect ways in which you recognize your volunteers. Be sure you are communicating in a variety of ways with your membership. Don’t count on just your newsletter to get the word out; use flyers, reader board, posters, email messages, etc.
Gets your awards committee going so they can be on the lookout for possible candidates for Golden Acorn, Outstanding Advocate and Outstanding Educator. Refer to the Council provided Awards Guideline on the Council website for detailed information. Including: Communications, Newsletter, Standards of Excellence, Honor Unit, Outstanding Local Unit of the Year, and PTAs Taking Significant Action, 100% Membership and 100% Teacher Membership.
