Joint Replacement: The Right Choice for You?
If you have arthritic joint pain and are considering joint replacement, you’ll want to attend this important class. If you have arthritic joint pain and are considering joint replacement, you’ll want to attend this important class. An orthopedic surgeon will discuss hip- and knee-replacement surgery, as well as the latest in robotic-assisted surgery for those who have advanced arthritis in part of their knee. There will also be a question and answer session with the surgeon.

All About Puberty: Parents and Boys Together
This class provides a perfect opportunity to build a bridge with your 9- to12-year-old to demystify the mysteries puberty. The focus of this fun, interactive class is to open and enhance communication between parents and preteens and explain the physical and emotional changes ahead. Taught in partnership with Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest.
Fee: $30 per family (fee includes two adults and one child; there is a $5 fee for each additional child or adult in the same family.)
Safe Sitter®
Safe Sitter is a medically accurate program that teaches boys and girls how to be good babysitters. The class covers basic lifesaving techniques, safety precautions and responsibilities of safe babysitting and is recommended for ages 11-13. The Safe Sitter program is recognized by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Fee: $40 (scholarships available on a limited basis). Visit

Love and Logic: Early Childhood Parenting Made Fun!™
Discover how to set limits, handle misbehavior, avoid power struggles, teach children to listen the first time, and more. Join Love and Logic® author and trained facilitator Lisa Greene for this entertaining and educational program as we put the fun back into parenting! Weight Loss Surgery Seminar, Bellevue, WA
Swedish Weight Loss Surgery Program offers free weight loss surgery seminars for the community. The seminars cover, in-depth, the advantages and disadvantages of lap band surgery, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery, and the vertical sleeve gastrectomy surgery. Dr. McMahon will also answer questions that participants have about the surgeries, outcomes and follow-up procedures.

Hop to Signaroo ® – Baby Sign Language
Hearing families can use American Sign Language to communicate with hearing babies as young as approximately 5 months old. Signing greatly reduces frustration, promotes faster language development, stimulates intellectual growth and brain development, enhances motor skills and strengthens your parent-child bond. Four sessions.
Fee: $128 plus required $19 materials fee payable at the first class. Class materials includes a Safety and Comfort Roo-minder Ring Set of Reminder Cards and a comprehensive class packet with resources, photos, descriptions and memory aids for 80 additional signs taught in class.
